考研英语（一）长难句解析系列——2006年完型

　　【例句译文】虽然这个数字可能会变化，分析家却认同这一事实：无家可归者的人数正在增长。
　　【典型例句3】 Even when homeless individuals manage to find a shelter that will give them three meals a day and a place to sleep at night, a good number still spend the bulk of each day wandering the street.
　　【例句分析】本句是一个复合句。when引导时间状语从句，主干是a good number still spend the bulk of each day wandering the street。在状语从句中，that引导定语从句，修饰shelter。
　　【例句译文】甚至当无家可归者设法找到一个提供一日三餐、晚上睡觉可以容身的庇护所时，大量无家可归者仍然花费大量的时间在街上闲逛。
　　【典型例句4】Many others, while not addicted or mentally ill, simply lack the everyday survival skills needed to turn their lives around.
　　【例句分析】本句是一个简单句，主干是Many others lack the everyday survival skills。while not addicted or mentally ill是让步状语从句的省略，needed to turn their lives around是过去分词短语做后置定语，修饰skills。
　　【例句译文】虽然很多其他的无家可归者并没有毒瘾或是精神疾病，但是他们确实缺少使生活转好所必须的日常生存技能。
