One reason for the complexity is that airlines were early adopters of computerized systems. They built their first electronic reservation systems in the early 1950s; Delta’s current system once belonged to a defunct airline that went bust in 1982. But as airlines merged and more new functions were added—from crew scheduling to passenger check-in and bag tracing— they have come to resemble technological hairballs in which one small problem quickly spirals into bigger ones that even experts struggle to disentangle.
1.Why the system of the airlines is so complicated?
A) One small problem will bring reservation systems down.
B) New functions were added to the early users of the airlines.
C) Airlines introduced the IT system in early days.
D) IT system was introduced in Airlines’ infancy.
解析:
One reason for the complexity is that airlines were early adopters of computerized systems.
They built their first electronic reservation systems in the early 1950s; Delta’s current system once belonged to a defunct airline that went bust in 1982.
切分:
1. They built their first electronic reservation systems in the early 1950s;
2.Delta’s current system once belonged to a defunct airline that went bust in 1982.
But as airlines merged and more new functions were added/—from crew scheduling to passenger check-in and bag tracing—/ they have come to resemble technological hairballs /in which one small problem quickly spirals into bigger ones that even experts struggle to disentangle.
切分:
1. But as airlines merged and more new functions were added/
2.—from crew scheduling to passenger check-in and bag tracing—/
3. they have come to resemble technological hairballs(技术难题) /
4.in which one small problem quickly spirals into bigger ones
5. that even experts struggle to disentangle.
1.Why the system of the airlines is so complicated?
One reason for the complexity is that airlines were early adopters of computerized systems.
Airlines introduced the IT system in early days.
A) One small problem will bring reservation systems down.
B) New functions were added to the early users of the airlines.
C) Airlines introduced the IT system in early days.
航空公司是IT系统的早期用户;
D) IT system was introduced in Airlines’ infancy.
Blame for the demise of pubs tends to focus on the 2007 smoking ban, impossible business rates and beer duty, the ocean of cheap alcohol sold by the big supermarkets, and younger people’s dwindling interest in alcoholic drink and its associated rituals.
The religious ritual is one of the reasons concerning the declining of pubs.
