阅读长难句：
We learn from the last two paragraphs that business-method patents_________.

本题出自2010年阅读的第一篇，难度不是很大，本文从长难句分析的角度，理解句意并选出答案。选项A可以很容易地被排除, 因为全文都在说法院要对授予专利的范围从新进行判定，所以immune这个词说反了。C选项是个不确定选项，文中并未提到是否对patent holder的影响。D选项也没有说到增加了风险。答案为B。而且从文章几处都可以看出来。下面就选择几个可以帮助确定答案的句子，进行分析。
第一个句子：
Curbs on business-method claims would be a dramatic about-face, because it was the Federal Circuit itself that introduced such patents with its 1998 decision in the so-called State Street Bank case, approving a patent on a way of pooling mutual-fund assets.
本句是一个比较复杂的长句。主句的主干核心是 curbs be about-face, 从句是表示原因的，其结构比较复杂，首先从句是一个it is...that的强调句式，如果去掉强调的结构，主干部分变成了 because the Federal Circuit introduced such patents with its 1998 decision in the so-called State Street Bank case，再进一步精简为，Federal Circuit introduced patents,后面的with,in 短语做状语;后面的部分approving a patent on a way of pooling mutual-fund assets，是分词短语做状语。

The Federal Circuit’s action comes in the wake of a series of recent decisions by the Supreme Court that has narrowed the scope of protections for patent holders.本句是一个定语从句，主句中的主干部分的核心是action comes,在状语的部分中，又含有一个定语从句，先行词是supreme court,主干是supreme court narrowed scope of protection。本句的答疑是联邦巡回法院的行动是对最高法院最近一系列决定的回应，这些决定缩小了专利次有人的保护范围。
第三个句子：
Last April, for example, the justices signaled that too many patents were being upheld for “inventions” that are obvious. 本句也是一个复合句。首先，是一个宾语从句that too many patents were being upheld for “inventions” that are obvious，在此句子中，还含有一个定语从句inventions” that are obvious，先行词是inventions, 定语从句的主干是inventions are obvious.本句的意思是去年四月，法官们指出，维护明显“发明”的专利太多了。
