　　考研英语经典难句分析(五)
　　长难句虽然不作为单独考查的内容出现在考研英语真题的试卷中，但是它却渗透到了各个专项中，比如，阅读，翻译，完形，甚至是新题型。如果长难句这个障碍疏理不掉的话，做题时，会困难重重。鉴于此，文都考研章老师精心为考研学子挑选出一些经典的，有特点的长难句，就相关知识点进行剖析，希望能助大家一臂之力。
　　【经典难句一】
　　A lateral move that hurt my pride and blocked my professional progress prompted me to abandon my relatively high profile career although, in the manner of a disgraced government minister, I covered my exit by claiming “I wanted to spend more time with my family”.
　　【结构剖析】
　　主干为I covered my exit...by claiming “I wanted to spend more time with my family” 为状语， A lateral move prompted me to abandon 是从句，里面嵌套定语从句that....修饰move, in the manner of a disgraced government minister插入语。
　　【翻译点拔】
　　move本义是 “移动”，结合语境指的“调动”。relatively high profile career直译是相对高形象的职业，转译即“相对体面的工作”。in the manner of 两层含义“以……的方式”，“正如……”
　　【参考译文】
　　一次平级的人事调动伤了我的自尊心，并阻断了我的事业发展，这促使我放弃自己相对较高的职业，当然，就像出丑的政府部长那样，我借口“我想有更多的时间与家人呆在一起”来掩饰我的失职。
　　【经典难句二】
　　As families move away from their stable community, their friends of many years, their extended family relationships, the informal flow of information is cut off, and with it the confidence that information will be available when needed and will be trustworthy and reliable.
　　【结构剖析】主干为the informal flow of information is cut off and the confidence .... As...引出的是时间状语从句，that引导同位语从句对confidence做进一步说明，同位语从句里嵌套一个发生省略的时间状语从句。本句的难点在于，第一个and后的部分发生了省略。省去了和前面分句相同的谓语is cut off ,必须要识别出来.
　　【翻译点拔】that information will be available.....引出的同位语从句里面嵌套了一个时间状语从句，处理的时候要补全后调序，先译状语从句。
　　【参考译文】
　　随着众多家庭搬出安定的社区，离开交往多年的朋友，远离大家庭的其他成员,日常信息来源就此切断，随之而来的是这种信心——即可靠可信的信息在需要时就能得到——也将中断。
