　　2008年的考研英语完形文章是选自2005年的Economist的一篇个人学术观点的说明文，文章内容主要围绕一部分人是否比另外一部分人聪明这个主题展开。原文的标题是The Evolution of Intelligence(智力的进化)，且就某些科学家提出的“某些民族的智商要高于平均水平”这样观点及现象展开了分析及论述，作者举出了一些中欧的民族例子，并指出，这群人容易得基因性疾病，且智商和疾病是一个矛盾的现象。
