    The Democratic candidate said in a speech in Washington DC that she had
never wanted to leave the house again.
    这位民主党候选人在华府发表了一场演讲，说自己曾想再也不要走出家门了。
    She told a children’s charity that the election had prompted soul-searching
for many Americans.
    希拉里对一家儿童慈善机构表示说，此次大选促使许多美国人探寻自己的灵魂。
    Mrs Clinton won the popular vote but was beaten to the presidency in the
all-important US electoral college.
    希拉里赢得了直选，但是却在最重要的美国选举人团票数上被川普击败。
    "Now I will admit coming here tonight wasn’t the easiest thing for me," she
said as she was honoured by the Children’s Defense Fund.
    儿童保护基金会邀请希拉里做客，她说道：“现在我承认今晚来到这里对我来说并不是一件简单的事儿。”
    "There have been a few times this past week when all I wanted to do was to
curl up with a good book and never leave the house again."
    “在过去的一周里，有好几次我都想拿着一本好书、然后蜷缩躲在被窝里，再也不要走出家门了。”
    She continued: "I know many of you are deeply disappointed about the
results of the election. I am, too, more than I can ever express.
    希拉里继续说道：“我知道你们中的许多人都对大选的结果深感失望。我也是，失望之情难以表达。”
    "I know this isn’t easy. I know that over the past week a lot of people
have asked themselves whether America is the country we thought it was.
    “我知道这并不容易。我知道在过去的一周里，许多人都在质问自己现在的美国还是不是我们过去认为的那个国家。”
    "The divisions laid bare by this election run deep, but please listen to me
when I say this.
    “此次大选暴露出来的分歧变得更深了，但是请听听我说的以下这些话。”
    "America is worth it. Our children are worth it. Believe in our country,
fight for our values and never, ever give up."
    “美国是值得的。我们的孩子也是值得的。相信我们的国家，为我们的价值而战，永远永远不要放弃!”
