    Appearing in public for the first time since conceding, the Democrat said
she hoped Mr Trump would be a successful president for all Americans.
    这是希拉里退选之后首次出现在公众面前,她表示说希望川普能够成为每一个美国人民的成功总统。
    The Republican will become the 45th US president after an astounding
victory which followed a divisive campaign.
    分歧巨大的两个竞选阵营经过了激烈厮杀,最后川普的胜利让人大吃一惊,这位共和党人不久之后就要入主白宫成为美国第45任总统。
    He holds his first transition meeting with outgoing President Barack Obama
at the White House on Thursday.
    本周四,川普将在白宫和即将卸任的奥巴马举行第一次权力过渡会议。
    Mr Trump’s transition team for the 10-week period until inauguration will
be led by Chris Christie, the governor of New Jersey.
    到明年就职典礼之前,川普还有10周的时间来做好权力过渡工作,新泽西州州长克莉丝·克里斯蒂将领导川普的权力过渡小组开展工作。
    The president-elect has said his immediate priorities are restoring the
country’s infrastructure and doubling its economic growth.
    据川普表示,他的当务之急是要恢复美国的基础设施、并且把美国的经济增长提高一倍。
    After losses overnight as Mr Trump’s surprise victory became clear, markets
rebounded and a feared meltdown failed to materialise.
    随着川普出人意料的胜利变得清晰的时候,全球市场瞬间遭遇了巨大损失,但是之后市场出现了反弹、令人恐惧的股灾也没有出现。

Mr Obama, who congratulated his successor in a phone call in
the early hours of the morning, said it was "no secret" that he and Mr Trump had
pretty significant differences.
   
    奥巴马在凌晨时分致电川普表示了祝贺,称自己和川普有很多不同点这件事“并非不可告人”。
    But he added that "we all want what’s best for this country" and he was
"heartened" by what he heard in Mr Trump’s remarks the night before.
    但是奥巴马又补充说道“我们都是为了这个国家的利益考虑”,并且表示说他被川普昨夜的胜选演讲所“鼓舞”。
    Mrs Clinton also urged her supporters to respect the election result,
saying the constitution enshrines the peaceful transition of power.
    希拉里也同样敦促她的支持者们尊重大选结果,称宪法将保证权力和平过渡。

"I’m sorry that we did not win this election for the values
we share and the vision we hold for our country," Mrs Clinton told her
supporters in her address in New York.
   
    希拉里在纽约对她的支持者们说道:“我很抱歉我们没能赢得这次大选,我们共同的价值观和我们对这个国家的愿景没能取得成功。”
    "We have seen that our nation is more deeply divided than we thought."
    “我们发现我们国家的分歧比我们想象中的更大。”
    Referencing her own speech when defeated by Barack Obama in her 2008 bid to
become the Democratic nominee, she said:

    "We have still not shattered that highest and hardest glass ceiling. But
some day, someone will."

    "To all the little girls watching... never doubt that you are valuable and
powerful and deserving of every chance and opportunity in the world," she
said.

Mr Trump told cheering supporters at his campaign rally in
the early hours of Wednesday that Americans must now "bind the wounds of
division", after the gruelling, acrimonious electoral battle.
   
    在经过艰苦、激烈的选举战之后,周三凌晨川普出现在了竞选集会上,他对欢呼的支持者们发表了讲话,说美国现在必须“愈合分裂的伤口”。
    "I want to tell the world community that while we will always put America’s
interests first, we will deal fairly with everyone," said the real estate mogul,
former reality TV star and political newcomer.
    这位房地产大亨、前真人秀明星、政治新手说道:“我想告诉全世界,尽管我们将永远把美国的利益放在第一位,但是我们也会公平地对待每一个人!”
    House Speaker Paul Ryan paid tribute to his fellow Republican, saying he
had "turned politics on its head" and would lead a unified Republican
government.
    众议院议长保罗·莱恩向川普表达了赞赏,称川普很有“政治头脑”、并将领导一个统一的共和党政府。
    From January the Republicans will control the presidency and both houses of
Congress - defying pollsters’ predictions.
    从明年一月开始,总统宝座和两院都将纳入共和党人的掌控--这和之前民调专家们的预测完全不同。
    Mr Ryan, a lukewarm supporter of the president-elect, said their party’s
strong showing in elections to the Senate and House of Representatives was
thanks in no small part to Mr Trump.
    保罗·莱恩之前对川普的支持还不冷不热,但是现在他则表示说共和党之所以能在两院代表选举中有如此强劲的表现,很大一部分都要感谢川普。
    He referred repeatedly to Mr Trump’s running mate, Mike Pence, as "my good
friend" and "a good man".

Mrs Clinton’s running mate Tim Kaine paid tribute to her as
"a history maker" and said that it was "uniquely difficult" to be elected to
federal office as a woman in the US.
   
    希拉里的竞选搭档提姆·凯恩赞扬她是一个“创造历史的人”,并且表示说在美国一个女人被当选为总统是“极其困难的”。
    US media report that Mrs Clinton is ahead in the popular vote, albeit by
less than 1%, though Mr Trump carved a path to victory through the electoral
college.
    据美国媒体报道,希拉里在普选中获得的支持比川普更大一些-虽然优势只有不到1%,但是川普却通过选举人团打通了指向成功的道路。
    The last time the defeated candidate won more votes cast than the person
elected president was in 2000, when Republican George Bush beat Democrat Al
Gore.

    Mr Trump’s election sparked protests in California, with more than 1,000
high school students walking out of classes in Berkeley, as well as smaller
demonstrations elsewhere in the state and in Oregon, Washington state and other
university locations.
    川普的获胜导致加州出现了抗议,伯克利超过1000名高中生走出了教师,加州、俄勒冈、华盛顿、以及其他一些大学都爆发了小规模的抗议活动。
    The Republican overturned pollsters’ forecasts to win in key battleground
states including Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

    Exit polls suggest that he won 58% of white voters to Mrs Clinton’s 37% -
and did particularly well among white men and white voters without college
degrees.

    On 20 January 2017 he will be inaugurated as president of the United States
- the first elected office he will ever have held.
