    A father and son suffered internal organ injuries and were hospitalized on
Monday after drinking hot chocolate at a McDonald’s restaurant in Southwest
China’s Chongqing, where an employee mistakenly added disinfectant instead of
hot water to the drink.
    本周一，重庆某家麦当劳店员工错将刚刚配好的消毒液当成热水，做成热巧克力饮料。一对在店里就餐的父子因摄入该饮料导致脏器受损，目前正在住院当中。
    Feng Lili, 46, took his four-year-old son to a drive-through McDonald’s
near the Yuan Yang subway station in the Yubei District Monday at noon. They
ordered a kid’s meal, which included a hot chocolate.
    周一中午时分，46岁的冯先生带着四岁的儿子来到渝北区靠近鸳鸯站旁的一家麦当劳餐厅吃午饭。两人点了一份儿童套餐，其中包含一份热巧克力饮料。
    The son took a sip first and refused to drink it anymore. Feng thought
maybe the drink was too hot and asked the son to wait until it cooled down.
After the son finished the meal, Feng found the drink almost untouched and
decided to drink it himself, according to Chongqing Evening News.
    据《重庆晚报》报道，冯先生的儿子就喝了一小口饮料，之后再也不愿意喝了。冯先生起初认为饮料太烫，还告知儿子等冷却之后再喝。结果等儿子吃完所有东西之后，冯先生发现这杯饮料基本没怎么动，为避免浪费，于是冯先生便决定自己喝这杯饮料。
    "I had a gulp of the drink and it tasted a little bit sour," Feng was
quoted as saying. "I thought it might be Sprite in it. But when I took a second
sip, I found something was wrong."
    冯先生回忆道：“当时我喝了一大口，觉得味道有点酸，以为里面掺了雪碧。但是当我喝第二口的时候，我发现有点儿不对劲了。”
    After about 10 seconds, Feng felt burns on his tongue and throat. He
returned to the restaurant and took what was left of the drink to the counter
and told employees about his sickness.
    喝下饮料几秒钟之后，冯先生感觉舌头和胃部有灼烧感。于是他回到餐厅，拿着剩下的饮料到柜台向工作人员反映情况。
    McDonald’s staff admitted that a colleague mistakenly added disinfectant
instead of hot water to Feng’s drink while the store was doing its routine
disinfection of kitchen utensils.
    后来，麦当劳的经理承认是一位员工错把刚刚配好的消毒液当成热水配到热巧克力里面。当时，餐厅正在为厨房的餐具进行定期消毒。
    The store explained that the hot water bottle was full of disinfectant at
the time, but the staffer thought hot water in it and poured it into Feng’s
drink.
    餐厅方面解释道当时热水瓶里面实际上装满了消毒液，但是员工以为里面是热水，便将其配到了冯先生的饮料当中。
    The father and son then went to Daping Hospital with the McDonald’s
workers.
    随后，冯先生父子在麦当劳员工的陪同下迅速赶往当地的大坪医院。
    The doctor diagnosed that both were poisoned by the disinfectant, which
injured their alimentary canals.
    医生诊断父子二人均为消毒液中毒，并且还伴有消化系统损伤。
    According to the Chongqing Liangjiang Food and Drug Administration, the son
has recovered and the father is still in the hospital under medical
observation.
    据重庆两江食品和药物管理局报道，冯先生的儿子目前基本恢复，但冯先生仍在住院治疗观察。
    "The McDonald’s staff did mistakenly add 250 grams of disinfectant
(deliquated Cyanuric acid sodium chloride) into Feng’s hot chocolate (80 ml
taken)," according to the statement by the food and drug authority.
    据药物食品管理局调查，该麦当劳餐厅员工误将稀释后的消毒粉(二氯异氰尿酸钠)250克当作饮用水兑入1杯热巧克力饮料中供就餐人员饮用(饮用80毫升)。
    The investigation on this incident is still underway.
    目前，该事件仍在调查中。
    "McDonald’s has been dedicated to providing our customers with safe and
high-quality food and we sincerely apology for the misconduct at our store,"
McDonald’s said in a press statement released to China Daily Tuesday
afternoon.
    本周二下午，《中国日报》发布了麦当劳的媒体声明。麦当劳方面表示：“麦当劳餐厅一直致力于向顾客们提供高质量且安全的食品。我们为这次事件的发生而向大家真诚道歉。”
    "We will take active action to solve the problem with the customer and
strengthen our management and staff training to prevent incidents like this from
happening again."
    “我们将积极采取措施来解决这一问题，同时加强对我们员工的管理和培训，杜绝此类事件的发生。”
