formed an anti-siblingsalliance in an effort to persuade their parents not
tohave a second child.

    Qingdao-based Peninsula Metropolis Daily reportedthat a teacher, surnamed
Wang, found eight of herstudents were holding secretive meetings to discussthe
issue. The students feared any siblings wouldsteal their parents exclusive love,

    The story became a sensation on the Internet and WeChat, China's popular
mobile socialmedia platform, arousing a feisty discussion about Chinas decision
to abandon its decades-long one-child policy on Jan 1.

    Many netizens said children born after 2000 are too selfish, as even those
who agree to have asibling often turn grumpy after a second child is born, while
others suggested the problem liesin education.

    Wang Donghui, commenting online, said her fellow parents should stop
teasing theirmisbehaving children about having a second child as punishment.
