Lunar mission moves a step closer
中国月球任务取得新突破
导读:中国运载火箭技术研究院与中国其他研究院合作，成功研制出了连接火箭各阶段的特大级间环，并将此火箭暂命名为长征九号运载火箭。
China has developed the manufacturing techniques for a key part to be used
on its super-heavy rocket that will fulfill the nation’s manned missions to the
moon.
中国发展制造技术，用以研发超重型火箭一关键组成部分，这一超重型火箭将完成中国载人登月任务。
The China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, working with other Chinese
institutes, has developed a super-large interstage ring to be used to connect
stages of the rocket, tentatively called the Long March 9.
中国运载火箭技术研究院与中国其他研究院合作，成功研制出了连接火箭各阶段的特大级间环，并将此火箭暂命名为长征九号运载火箭。
The development was announced in a news release by China Aerospace Science
and Technology Corp, the country’s major space contractor.
中国航天科技集团公司是中国航天事业主要承包商，这一新突破便是在其新闻发布会上宣布的。
The release said an interstage ring is a key component in a multistage
rocket, and that those used on China’s current rockets were made in sections
before being assembled.
发布会表示，级间环是多级火箭的关键组成部分，而用在中国现有火箭上的级间环以往都是分开制造，最后组装的。
In contrast, the ring on the Long March 9 will be made through a casting
method that produces it in one piece.
相反，用在长征九号运载火箭上的级间环，将使用铸造法制造，无需组装，成品即是可直接使用的完整级间环。
The China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology has begun preliminary
research on the Long March 9. The work has been approved by the State
Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, which
is in charge of the nation’s space programs.
中国运载火箭技术研究院已经开始研发长征九号运载火箭，这一任务得到了国家科学、技术和国防工业(负责国家太空计划)的准批。
According to sources at the academy, it plans to take up to five years to
design and develop a liquid oxygen/kerosene engine with 460 metric tons of
thrust and a oxygen/liquid hydrogen engine with 220 tons of thrust.
根据研究院发布的消息显示，中国运载火箭技术研究院计划将用5年时间设计研发出460公吨推力的液氧/煤油发动机和220吨推力的氧气/液氢发动机。
The rocket will have a launch weight of 3,000 tons and is scheduled to make
its maiden flight around 2030, the sources said, adding that it will play a key
role in helping to land astronauts on the moon.The Long March 9’s technical
specifications have still to be disclosed.
据消息称，火箭发射重量为3000吨，并计划在2030年左右进行首航。消息还补充道,
它在帮助宇航员在月球上着陆起着至关重要的作用。长征九号运载火箭技术规格尚未公布。
But Li Tongyu, head of aerospace products at the academy, said its diameter
and height will be much greater than those of the Long March 5, which is
undergoing final tests and will make its first flight soon. The Long March 9’s
thrust will also be much stronger, Li said.
李彤宇是研究院航空航天产品的主管，他表示，虽然长征九号运载火箭技术规格尚未公布，但它的直径和高度都将比长征五号系列火箭更长更高，长征五号系列火箭正在进行最后测试，很快将完成首次试飞。李彤宇还表示，长征九号运载火箭的推力也要更强大。
"Our current launch vehicles, including the Long March 5, will be able to
undertake the country’s space activities planned for the next 10 years, but they
will not have the capacity to carry out the nation’s long-term space programs,"
according to Li.
根据李彤宇：“我们现在的运载火箭，包括长征五号系列火箭，将能完成未来10年国家计划的航空航天活动，但它们并不具备执行国家长期太空计划的能力。”
Li Jinghong, deputy chief designer of the Long March 3A at the academy,
cited technical estimates stating that the Long March 5 will require four
launches before fulfilling a manned mission to the moon, while the Long March 9
will need only one.
李景洪是研究院长征三号甲运载火箭副总设计师，他引用技术评估数据，表示长征五号系列火箭将需要进行四次发射，才能完成载人登月任务，长征九号运载火箭则只需一次。
The senior engineer also said that the Long March 9 will not be used solely
for lunar missions, hinting that it will be required for other deep-space
exploration projects.
高级工程师同样表示，长征九号运载火箭不单用于月球任务，这暗示着长征九号运载火箭也将用于其他深空探测工程。
Tian Yulong, secretary-general of the China National Space Administration,
said it has started preliminary research on a Mars exploration program.
田玉龙是中国国家航天局秘书长，他表示长征九号运载火箭已经初步开始用于火星探索计划当中。
