I am referring to that unfortunate accident the other day, when I was knocked off my bike by a taxi.

（积累：与过去事实相反的虚拟语气had+过去分词 ，would/could/might/should +have +过去分词）
第二句通过旁观者的评论，客观表述了收信人给写信人带来的积极影响。
（积累：强调句式It is…that..; lead to ）

第二句是本段的主旨句。通过自己的期望，再一次高度赞扬了收信人。
（积累：与现在事实相反的虚拟语气：动词过去式，would/could/might/should+动词原形）
