                　　在经过了之前文章中对定语从句的讲解后，今天，北京的英语老师的主要目的就是为了检验一下各位考生的复习情况，因此，这篇文章的“主旋律”是围绕从句嵌套情况展开的。当然，句子中很少嵌套一种从句，多数情况是多种从句嵌套的，且除了从句嵌套外，还有可能会出现特殊句式或结构的，因此考生对于这样的长难句还是需要将其拆解，若是以句式结构切分容易，考生则可以从句式结构入手处理这个句子；若考生能够使句子以意群作切分，考生也可以以意群作为切分的标准。
       
       
                　　（1）Television is one of the means by which these feelings are created and conveyed-and perhaps never before has it served to much to connect different peoples and nations as in the recent events in Europe.
       
       
                　　（2） Creating a “European identity” that respects the different cultures and traditions which go to make up the connecting fabric of the Old continent is no easy task and demands a strategic choice.
       
       
                　　这两个从句都选自2005年考研英语真题的翻译模块的两道真题，那么接下来，我们来拆解第一个句子：
       
       
                　　（1）Television is one of the means;
       
       
                　　(2) (by which) these feelings are created and conveyed;

                　　在这三个小句子中，考生应该比较容易找到谓语动词：第一个句子是该句的主句，其谓语动词为is；第二个句子的谓语动词为are created and conveyed；第三个句子中的谓语动词相对较难摘取，主要是因为第三个句子属于特殊句式——倒装句式及并列结构，其谓语动词为has served；其具体划分情况为：Television is one of the means /定语从句by which these feelings （指代关系） 被动结构are created and conveyed – /and perhaps 倒装结构never before has it served 并列结构1/so much to connect different peoples and nations 并列结构2 /as in the recent events in Europe。接下来，考生可以尝试着翻译一下句子：电视是引发和传播这种感受的手段之一——在欧洲近来发生的事件中，它把不同的民族和国家连到一起，其作用之大，前所未有。
