2019考研英语翻译每日一句：人类学中“文化”

    Thus, the anthropological concept of "culture," //like the concept of "set"

    词汇要点：
    1) anthropological //adj. 人类学的，关于人类学的
    2) set //n. 套，系列;集，集合
    3) amount //n. 量
        结构要点：
    1) like the concept of…是插入语，主干是the anthropological concept of culture… is
an abstract concept;
    2) which引导的定语从句中make是谓语动词，宾语是an immense amount of concrete research and
understanding，possible是宾语补足语。
    汉译逻辑要点：
    1) set算是一个“熟词僻意”，是“集，集合”的意思。下文的介词短语in mathematics作定语在修饰它。是数学中的“集合”概念。
    2) which…定语从句比较复杂，所以根据定语从句的翻译方法，可以翻译在先行词后面，用代词“它”来代替先行词的方法来处理。
    3) makes possible immense amounts of concrete research and
understanding这个结构中的make spossible其实是make…possible的结构，宾语immense amounts of
concreteresearch and understanding太长，所以放到最后面了。make…possible是“使…成为可能”的意思。
    4) amount of是“一些”的意思， immense amounts of是“大量”的意思;concrete research and
understanding可以直接翻译为“具体的研究和认识”，它是指“大量对于人类学的研究和认识”。
    完整译文：
    因此，像数学中“集”的概念一样，人类学中“文化”的概念是一个抽象概念;它使大量的具体研究和认识成为可能。
    或：因此，人类学中“文化”的概念就像数学中“集”的概念一样，是一个抽象概念;它使大量的具体研究和认识成为可能。
