　　打起精神来，我们今天研究2009年考研真题中的阅读长难句。
　　咱们先来看Text3中这句话。Progress in both areas is undoubtedly necessary for the social, political and intellectual development of these and all other societies; however, the conventional view that education should be one of the very highest priorities for promoting rapid economic development in poor countries is wrong.
　　这句话也是很长，但仔细分析后，聪明的同学就能一眼看到，整句中间有一个分号。那么咱们先看前半句，前半句的主干结构很简单，主语是progress，系动词是is。整句主干就属于“主系表”。前半句的含义是“在这两个领域取得的进步对于这些贫穷国家以及其他国家的社会、政治、智力发展都是必不可少的”。后半句的主干结构也并不难。主语是“view”，这个主语后面有个定语从句“that education should be one of the very highest priorities for promoting rapid economic development in poor countries”。后半句的含义是“传统观点认为教育应成为促进贫困国家经济快速发展首要考虑的因素之一，但它是错误的”
　　咱们再来看Text3 中的这一句More recently, while examining housing construction, the researchers discovered that illiterate, non-English- speaking Mexican workers in Houston, Texas, consistently met best-practice labor productivity standards despite the complexity of the building industry's work. 看完这句话，同学们首先需要注意的是，这句中的while含义是“when”，表示“当什么时候”。整句话的主语是“the researchers”，谓语是“discover”，整句话的主干属于“主谓宾”。宾语部分是由“that”引导的宾语从句。而句首的“more recently”和“while examining housing construction”都属于状语，状语部分的含义是“最近，当研究者在调查房屋建筑时”
　　整句话的含义是“最近，研究者在调查房屋建筑业时发现，尽管建筑业的工作很复杂，但是在德克萨斯州休斯敦市的那些不识字、不会说英语的墨西哥工人却能一直达到劳动生产率最佳实践标准”。
