　　两个破折号之间为插入语，可以直接略过；implication“影响”，也可以表示“含义，暗示”；in years ahead“在未来数年”，也可以说in years to come；enthrone“使登基”，在这里引申为“使登上...位置”；America’s most densely populated region“美国人口最稠密的地区”；head counting“人口统计”，相当于census。
