2019考研英语基础语法之状语从句（二）

现阶段英语复习中主要把握两个复习重心：词汇记忆以及基础语法知识。文都考研英语老师将就考研英语语法中的一个必考语法点--状语从句第二部分，希望对大家有所帮助。
在英语语法中，副词一般在句子中充当状语成分，因此，状语从句又可称为副词性从句。在英语三大类从句中，状语从句的内容和种类最为复杂，具体可分为时间、地点、原因、条件、方式、目的、结果、比较、让步等九大状语从句。今天，我们主要根据历年真题中的例句为大家解读原因状语从句和条件状语从句。
一、原因状语从句
常用的从属连词包括：because; since; as; now that; in that;  seeing that;  given that; considering that
v 真题例句：
However, because these connections are made through effort and practice, scientists believe that intelligence can expand and fluctuate according to mental effort.
参考译文：然而，因为这些连接是通过努力和练习而形成的，所以科学家认为智力能够通过思维锻炼而发展和波动。
Since desire and will are damaged by the presence of thoughts that do not accord with desire, Allen concluded, “we do not attract what we want, but what we are”. （注意：since也可用在时间状语从句中，表示“自从······”）
参考译文：因为愿望和意志会因为那些与愿望不一致的思想的出现而遭到破坏，Allen得出如下结论：“我们所吸引的不是我们所想，而是我们本身所是”。
Now utopia has grown unfashionable, as we have gained a deeper appreciation of the range of threats facing us, from asteroid strike to epidemic flu and to climate change.
参考译文：现在乌托邦式的幻想已经过时了，因为我们已经对所面临的一系列的威胁 -- 从小行星的撞击到流感再到气候变化 -- 有了一个更深的认识。
注意：表示原因的最常用的从属连词是because; since; as。这三个连词语气逐渐减弱，但是同学们不需要分辨，只需要知道它们都表示“因为”即可。
二、条件状语从句
常用的从属连词是if; once; as long as/so long as

If the study of law is beginning to establish itself as part and parcel of a general education, its aims and methods should appeal direactly to journalism educators.
参考译文：如果有关法律的研究正在开始成为普通教育的重要组成部分，那么它的目标和方法应该会立即吸引新闻学教育者。
