    President Obama’s half-brother Malik has announced that he is voting for
Donald Trump in the next election.
    奥巴马总统同父异母的哥哥马利克宣布，他将在接下来的大选中为唐纳德·特朗普投票。
    In an interview with the New York Post from his home in Kenya, Malik said
he was voting for the Republican candidate because ’he speaks from the
heart.’
    马利克在肯尼亚的家中接受《纽约邮报》的采访时表示，他将为共和党候选人投票，因为“他道出了民众的心声。”
    Malik’s announcement could be seen as a dig at his famous relative Barack,
who has publicly backed Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton to take over from him
after the November election.

    But the 58-year-old, who lives in a rural Kenyan village but is still
registered to vote in Maryland, has no plans to follow the president’s footsteps
and has criticized Clinton over her use of a private e-mail servers while
secretary of state.

    He also blamed both Clinton and his half-brother for the 2011 death of
Libyan dictator Colonel Muammar Gaddafi - who he had described as one of his
closest friends.

    He is also uncomfortable about the Democratic Party’s support of same-sex
marriage - made legal across every state under his own half-brother’s
presidency.

    ’I feel like a Republican now because they don’t stand for same-sex
marriage, and that appeals to me,’ he said.

    Since the announcement, Trump has tweeted: ’Wow, President Obama’s brother,
Malik, just announced that he is voting for me. Was probably treated badly by
president-like everybody else!’

    The Obama brothers have had a strained relationship over the years.

    They first met around 30 years ago and were best men at each other’s
weddings. Malik claims that he’s been invited to the White House on numerous
occasions and that he stays in contact with the president.

    ‘I’m very proud of my brother, but I would like for him to do a little bit
more for the family on this side. I would like to say he could send some money.
I give money when asked. That’s what family is for. We’re not well off, though
people think we are.’
