    1. Your humor must be relevant to the audience and should help to show them
that you are one of them or that you understand their situation and are in
sympathy with their point of view. (2002. 阅读. Text 1)
    【译文】你的幽默必须与听众有关，能够向他们显示你是他们的一员，或者你了解他们的情况，同情他们的观点。
    【析句】本句为复合句，主从句结构十分明显。主句Your humor must be...and should help to show
them，主语是your humor，有两个并列的谓语结构must be relevant to the audience 和 should
help。第二个谓语结构后也有两个并列的that引导的宾语从句，分别是that you are one of them, that you
understand...and are in sympathy with...。
    2. Here is an example, which I heard at a nurses’ convention, of a story
which works well because the audience all shared the same view of doctors.

    【译文】下面举一个例子，它是我在一个护士大会上听到的。这个故事效果很好，因为听众对医生都有同样的看法。
    【析句】我们说两个逗号之间一般是插入语，割裂了前后文的完整性。这个例句中情况略有不同。which引导非限制性定语从句修饰主句Here is an
example。第二个逗号之后的内容of a story并非与主句相连，而是定语从句中heard的介宾成分，用了短语hear
of“听说”。story后又有which引导的定语从句，because引导原因状语从句解释works well 的原因。
    3. If you are part of the group, which you are addressing, you will be in a
position to know the experiences and problems which are common to all of you and
it’ll be appropriate for you to make a passing remark about the inedible canteen
food or the chairman’s notorious bad taste in ties. (2002. 阅读. Text 1)
    【译文】如果你是你谈话对象集体中的一员，你就能够了解你们所共有的经历和问题，你就可对餐厅极难吃的食物或者总裁在选择领带方面差劲的品味进行评头论足。
    【析句】句子的主干是If you are part...group, you will be in a position...problems and
it'll be appropriate...ties, if引导条件状语从句，主句由两个并列的简单句构成。从句中，有定语从句which you are
addressing;主句的第一个简单句中也有which引导的定语从句which are common to all of
you;第二个简单句中没有从句，it作形式主语，真正的主语是后面的不定式to make a passing remark about...ties.
