        　　The bar chart given above reflects the statistics of cheating in professors' publication and students' exam and papers. From 2001 to 2005,the proportion of professors' cheating increased from 1% to nearly 4.2%. During the same period, the proportion ofstudents' cheating rose from nearly 4.5% to 7%.
        　　The bar chart informs us of the phenomenon that academic cheating is becoming more serious nowadays. What exactly contribute to this phenomenon? Reasons can be listed as follows: firstly,people today, including professors and students, tend to be more eager for instant success and quick profits. They always wish to achieve success,such as publication, exam and papers, in short period. When putting immediate benefits in the first place, they naturally and inevitably overlook others' interests and the negative impact of cheating on themselves. Moreover, the supervision system practiced today is not that strict, which enables ill-intentioned people to cheat easily. Combined with the slight penalties for those who cheated (to some extent, these people can keep cheating without even suffering much in the way of consequences) , this trend intensified.
        　　A high value should be placed on the issueof academic cheating. Without proper measures towards this issue, the development of academic research as well as students' academic abilities can be severly compromised, what is more serious is that it will affect thedevelopment and morality of a certain country.         　　如上这幅柱状图显示了教授在出版过程以及学生在考试论文中得作弊的统计学数据。从2001年到2005年，教授作弊得比例从1%上升到将近4.2%。在同样地时期内，学生作弊得比例从4.5%上升到7%。
        　　这幅图表告诉我们一个现象，那就是学术作弊得情况越来越严重。是什么理由导致了这个现象呢?原因可以罗列如下：首先，现在的人，也包括教授和学生，都比较急功近利。他们总是希望在短时间内达成自己的目标，比如出版、考试或者论文。将这种短期利益放在第一位，他们自然就忽略了他人的利益以及这么做对自己造成的潜在的负面影响。再者，现在的学术监管制度也不够严格，因而目的不良的人可以相对容易的作弊。再加上对作弊者的惩罚力度不够，他们可以在不承担后果地作弊，这势必加剧这种不良的风气。
        　　学术作弊问题应该得到人们的重视。如果得不到妥善处理，不仅会影响学术研究的发展，学生的学习成绩和能力，甚至会影响一个国家的发展和道德品质。
