2016考研英语定语的翻译(二)-of短语做后置定语
在介词短语做后置定语中，of短语做后置定语考查最多。那么of短语做后置定语应该如何翻译呢。按照汉语的习惯如果of做的是后置定语，那么就要倒叙翻译。我们看几个例子。The structure of language 语言的框架 结构为A of B，翻译为B的A
那是不是of短语做后置定语的时候都是这样呢
Rationalization of exploitation 剥削的合理
The start of man-machine integration 人机一体化的开始
Features of Canadian constitution 加拿大宪法的特征
The effect of our acts 我们行为的影响
Measures of centralized control 中央控制的办法
以上的例子我们可以看到A of B，翻译为B的A，这里的B都是做后置定语来修饰前面的名词A。但是在这个机构中也会出现一些结构稍微复杂一点的比如14(49)freedom of thought and of personal expression
这里译为想法的自由和个人表达的自由，因为这个句子是由and并列的两个B修饰一个A，那翻译的时候其实还是倒叙翻译，知识这个结构稍微复杂一些。
除了A of B，还有一种就是A of B of C。这里按照之前的翻译方法应该译为C的B的A，同样这里的of短语还是做后置定语
The coming of age of postwar baby boom 战后婴儿潮时代的到来
a necessary part of the intellectual equipment of an educated person 受教育人知识储备的必要的一部分
the measure of the worth of any social institution 任何社会机构价值的衡量
这些都是倒叙翻译的。
以上是比较简单的，在此之外还有一种A of B做定语的情况，这种是B是比较长的结构。

以上就是of短语做后置定语的翻译方法。那么在考研翻译这个题里面还有一些of短语
1，表示数量的of短语，most of them ，a great deal of money
2，固定搭配 run out of，regardless of
3，表示同等位置关系的of短语
