播放量 view countsOne of China's largest video platforms, iQiyi, announced on Monday that
it's removing all view counts on its website, and instead would be adopting
artificial intelligence technology to help recommend videos.
我国最大视频平台之一爱奇艺3日宣布，关闭其网站上所有的播放量显示，转而借助人工智能技术向用户推荐视频。
播放量(view counts)即某个视频被用户看过的次数，是这些年引发颇多关注的"流量"数据的一种，其他的流量数据还包括，网页的浏览量(page
view，PV)，点击量(hits/clicks)，某个网页或者产品的独立访客数(unique
visitor，UV)等。由此而产生的所谓"流量明星"就可以用online celebrity with a huge fan
base表示，或者简称为online celebrity，social media star也可以。
爱奇艺在声明中表示，将尝试结合内容作品的美誉度、社会影响力、价值导向等多个因素，搭建一个更为多元、综合权重更为合理的热度评估体系。据爱奇艺首席内容官介绍，该体系包括三方面的数据：基于播放时间的行为数据(behavioral
data based on viewing time)，关注用户观看某个视频的具体时长而不是视频的点击次数;用户互动数据(interaction
data)，包括评论、点赞、转发等数据;用户分享行为数据(sharing behavioral data)。
爱奇艺在声明称，在"唯播放量论(making view counts the sole
criterion)"的影响下，不少从业者将播放量数据作为目标，不仅扭曲了创作和宣传的初心(distort the original purposes of
creation and publicity)，还为吸引眼球而低俗炒作，甚至令行业滋生出刷量等违法行为(illegal acts like faking
view counts)。与此同时，劣币驱逐良币现象日趋抬头，大量优质作品因为缺乏综合客观的评价体系而埋没(good contents were flooded
out of public sight due to the lack of comprehensive and objective assessment
system)。
在非良性竞争环境下，制作公司失去了指导内容制作的评判依据，用户在选择内容时得不到有效的参考目标(no helpful reference is
available)，广告主也无法对营销投放效果做出合理评估(advertisers are unable to make sound assessment
on marketing effect)，行业健康可持续成长的土壤遭到破坏。
