1【长难句】As Eugene Ferguson has pointed out, "A technologist thinks about objects
that cannot be reduced to unambiguous verbal descriptions: they are dealt with
in his mind by a visual, nonverbal process...The designer and the inventor..,
are able to assemble and manipulate in their minds devices that as yet do not
exist".
2【分析】
As引导状语从句，正如…。主句是引号部分，其中A technologist thinks about objects是主干，that
引导定语从句。冒号后面是解释说明。The designer and the inventor是另一句的主语，are able to assemble and
manipulate是谓语，devices是宾语，in their minds是状语，后面是定语从句修饰devices。
3【注意】
assemble and
manipulate是及物动词，宾语是devices，中间插入了一个状语，这是考研翻译题中重点考察现象：动宾之间的分割结构。
