考研英语单词怎么背?有的同学反映一天下来，背十几个单词都记不住。其实背英语单词是一个大量重复的过程，不必急于一时，我们也都知道英文的单词通常包含有前缀、后缀和词根三部分。前缀改变词义，后缀改变词性，词根表达最基本的含义。词根部分很多都基本是我们学过的一些基础词汇，所以英语教研室张莹老师告诉大家，在学习单词时，若能掌握一定的前后缀的知识，然后结合词根部分的基本含义，那么背单词将容易很多。就拿unpredictability这个词来说(1995年第五篇文章)，词根部分是dict,和“说”有关，pre是前缀，表示“前面”，前面还有一个表示否定的前缀un,
后面的ability是一个后缀，表示“某种能力”，通常翻译为“可...性”，所以，综合看来，这个单词的意思就是“不可提前说出来的特性”，就是“不可预测性”。还比如，知道normal
是 “正常的”，ab-是否定前缀，那么abnormal
就是“不正常的”。但是请注意，这个单词使用的时候，如果指人的话，通常指的是“变态的”，所以要慎用。
