2019考研英语翻译每日一句：独特的技术千年历

词汇要点：
1) millennium //n. 千年，千禧年，一千年
2) breakthrough //n. 突破
结构要点：
1) 主干结构是Pearson has pieced together the work;
2) to produce…是不定式短语做状语;
3) that gives…是定语从句，修饰calendar;
4) 后面的when we…也是定语从句，修饰前面的时间名词dates。
汉译逻辑要点：
1) piece
together意思是“汇集、搜集、整理”;work本义是“工作”，但是下文有researchers修饰，所以翻译为“研究人员的”“研究成果”最好。
2) produce本义是“生产、创造”，但是下文的宾语是calendar，翻译为“编制日历，编订日历”为好，或者“发明了一个日历”也行。
3) that gives…定语从句里面还包含了一个修饰dates的when定语从句，所以逻辑上安排到后面翻译。
4) when定语从句虽然比较长，但前面thatgives the latest
dates这个结构比较短，所以可以把when从句翻译到dates前面。
5) latest译为“最晚、最迟”合适，是指“重大突破在将来最晚什么时候会出现”。
完整译文：
皮尔森汇集了世界各地数百位研究人员的成果，编制了一个独特的技术千年历，它列出了人们有望看到数百项重大突破和发现的最迟日期。
