2019考研英语翻译每日一句：直接讲授或学校教育

词汇要点：
1) distinguish //v. 区别
2) tuition //n. 教学，讲授;学费
结构要点：
1) 主干是一个被动结构We are…led to;
2) distinguish的宾语是a more formal kind of education，中间within…是介词短语做状语;
3) which we have been…定语从句，修饰process;
4) 破折号后面的that of…是同位语，在解释说明formal kind of education。
汉译逻辑要点：
1) 主干部分we are lead to
distinguish…，要看到其中的被动结构，基本意思是“我们被引导去区别…”。主宾颠倒之后，可以翻译为“可以使我们区分…，这使得我们得以区分”。
2) within the broad educationalprocess which we have been so far
considering中的which定语从句可以翻译到先行词process前面。consider基本意思是“考虑”，但是说“我们一直在考虑的过程”比较不通顺。这个过程，我们已经“考虑”过了，其实就是我们已经“讨论”过了;consider宜翻译为“讨论”。
3) a more formal kind of
education是“一种更为正式的教育形式”，它充当“distinguish区分”的宾语，宜直接翻译在“区分”后面。
4) that of direct tuition
orschooling中的that指代前面的“教育形式”，可以翻译为“直接讲授或学校教育”(的教育形式)。tuition这个单词，好多学生只记过“学费”的意思，它还有一个意思是
(espfml 尤其用于正式文体中) teaching or instruction, espthat given to individuals or
small groups 教学, 讲授，尤其指对个人或小组的教导。所以，要注意区别tuition和schooling的细微差别。
