首句倒装，正常语序An enormous stockpile of information is adding to societal changes today. societal=social“社会的”;one piece of infromation“一条信息”;be relevant to“与...相关”;time-consuming“耗时的”;even表示沿着同一个方向递进，说明overwhelming比complicated和time-consuming程度更深，overwhelming表示“压倒性的，势不可挡的”。
Coupled with the growing quantity of information is the development of technologies which enable the storage and delivery of more information with greater speed to more locations than has ever been possible before.
这是一个倒装句，正常语序the development of technologies is coupled with the growing quantity of information;be coupled with“与...结合”;which引导定语从句，修饰限定the development of technologies;整个定语从句的翻译“这些技术的发展使得人们能够比过去以更快的速度往更多的地方存储和传递更多的信息，这在以前是不可能的。”

it充当形式宾语，真正的宾语是to do, and to do;bombard“轰炸”;multitudes of“许多”; at the instant of occurrence“在发生的一瞬间”，occurrence“发生”，动词occur，it occurs to sb. that“某人突然想到”;expertise“专门知识”;worldwide“世界范围的”，nationwide“全国范围的”，schoolwide“全校范围的”，写作涉及过相关的考查;facilitate“促进，使便利”，facilities可以表示“设施”。
