LONDON, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- Times Higher Education (THE) on Wednesday
reveals its BRICS & Emerging Economies University Rankings 2017. China’s
institutions dominate, taking seven of the top 10 places, led by Peking
University (1st) and Tsinghua University (2nd), and 77 in the ranking
overall.

《泰晤士报高等教育》(THE)于本周三发布了2017年金砖国家和新兴经济体大学排名。中国高校领跑榜单，其中前10强中占据七席，北京大学排名第一，清华大学排名第二，另有77所大学上榜。
Accounting for one in six of universities in the ranking, the Chinese
mainland is home to the highest density of leading institutions in the
developing world.
中国大陆的大学占据榜单六分之一的名额，成为发展中国家中顶尖学府最为密集的地区。
Meanwhile, Taiwan has 25 universities in this year’s expanded ranking of
300 institutions.
同时，台湾今年在前300所高等学府中有25所大学。
An impressive 38 of China’ s universities make the top 100, while seven
make the elite top 10, including University of Science and Technology of China
(5th), Fudan University which rose 11 places to reach sixth place this year,
Shanghai Jiaotong University (7th), Zhejiang University (9th), Nanjing
University (11th), and Wuhan University (21th).
值得注意的是，中国有38所大学位居前百，其中有七所大学名列前10，包括中国科技大学(第5名)、从11名上升至今年第六名的复旦大学、上海交通大学(第7名)、浙江大学(第9名)、南京大学(第11名)和武汉大学(第21名)。
Meanwhile Tongji University makes the top 25 at joint 24th place for the
first time after jumping 28 places.
同时，同济大学在进入第28名之后，首次名列前25名，位居第24名。
China has introduced powerful policy drives, backed with serious funding,
to produce world-class universities.
在大量资金的支持下，中国为了打造出世界级大学已经引进了强有力的政策驱动。
