BEIJING, Nov. 1 -- Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of
China Central Committee, on Tuesday underscored the importance of adherence to
the 1992 Consensus and called for maintaining the peaceful development of
cross-Strait relations.
北京，11月1日--本周二，中共中央总书记习近平强调了坚持“九二共识”的重要性、呼吁维护两岸关系和平发展。
Xi made the remarks while meeting with a delegation led by Hung Hsiu-chu,
leader of Taiwan’s Kuomintang (KMT) party.
习近平在接见台湾国民党领导人洪秀柱率团来访时发表了以上讲话。
"To ensure national integrity and protect the fundamental interests of the
Chinese nation is the common will of all Chinese people," Xi said.
习近平主席说道：“确保国家完整、保护中华民族根本利益是所有中国人民的共同愿望。”
He made a six-point proposal on cross-Strait relations:
习近平主席就两岸关系提出了六点建议：
-- Adhering to the 1992 Consensus, which affirms the one-China
principle;
第一、坚持“九二共识”，坚持“一个中国”原则不动摇;
-- Resolutely opposing forces supporting "Taiwan independence" and their
activities;
第二、坚决反对支持“台独”和其他活动的势力;
-- Promoting the integrated social and economic development of cross-Strait
societies;
第三、促进海峡两岸社会完整的社会和经济发展;
-- Working together to carry forward Chinese culture;
第四、携手弘扬中国文化;
-- Boosting the well-being of people across the Taiwan Strait;
第五、提升海峡两岸人民的幸福感;
-- Dedicating to realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation in
concerted efforts.
第六、海峡两岸共同努力、致力于实现中华民族的伟大复兴。
