The Olympic Flame that will burn during the 2016 Rio Summer Olympic Games
was lit at the birthplace of the ancient Olympics on Thursday.
Actress Katerina Lechou dressed as an Ancient Greek High Priestess， stood
before the 2，500-year-old Temple of Hera， a goddess in Greek mythology， and used
a concave mirror to focus the sun’s rays and light the torch at 12:52 a.m local
time.
A few minutes later， according to the schedule， she will pass it to the
first torchbearer， Lefteris Petrounias， the Greek world champion in
gymnastics.
The ritual ceremony at the ancient stadium in western Greece where the
Olympic Games were born 25 centuries ago， is held in front of an enthusiastic
crowd of thousands of locals and foreign visitors.
Numerous dignitaries attended the event， including the President of the
Hellenic Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos， the President of the International
Olympic Committee Thomas Bach， and representatives of the Greek government and
of the Brazilian delegation headed by the President of the Organizing Committee
of the "RIO 2016" Olympic Games Carlos Nuzman.
Giovane Gavio， volleyball Olympic champion， representing Brazil， will be
the second torchbearer in the torch relay that will be held across Greece.
The Sacred Flame will be delivered to the Rio Games organizers in a
Handover ceremony in Athens on April 27 to continue its trip across the ocean
for the XXXI Olympic Games.
星期四，2016里约夏季奥运会的圣火在古奥运的发源地被点燃。
由希腊著名演员卡特琳娜-莱乌扮演的女祭司，站在有着2500年悠久历史的赫拉神庙前(赫拉是希腊神话中的一位女神)，利用凹面镜聚集阳光，于当地时间12：52分成功引燃圣火。
按照计划，几分钟后，她将圣火传递给了第一位火炬手、希腊世界体操冠军佩特罗尼亚斯。
2500年前，奥林匹克在希望西部的奥林匹亚村诞生，圣火采集仪式一直以来都在这里的古竞技场进行。活动现场引来了数千名当地人和外国游客热情观看。
众多政要出席了本次仪式，包括希腊共和国总统帕夫洛普洛斯，国际奥委会主席巴赫、希腊政府代表以及由“2016里约奥运会”组委主席卡洛斯-努兹曼率领的巴西代表团。
巴西的排球奥运冠军加维奥，是圣火在希腊传递的第二棒火炬手。
4月27日，在雅典举办的移交仪式上，奥运火种将被正式移交给里约奥组委，继续它本届奥运会的飘洋过海旅程。
