Indian Prime Minister wished Afghan President AshrafGhani a happy birthday
on Twitter - only for thelatter to explain he had got the wrong day - the
BBCreported.
根据BBC报道，印度总理纳伦德拉·莫迪在推特上向阿富汗总统阿什拉夫·加尼送上最美好的祝福，只不过后者指出，莫迪总理把时间搞错了。
Modi had tweeted his best wishes to Ghani, writing, "Praying for your long
life and exceptional healthand a joyful journey ahead." The Afghan presidentthen
gently pointed out his date of birth, May 19.
莫迪总理在推文中表达了他对加尼总统最美好的祝福，他这样写道：“祝加尼先生身体健康、长寿，生活幸福。”随后，加尼总统友好地指出，其实他的生日是5月19日。
Ghani's profile on Google lists his birthday as being on February 12, which
may explain themistake. It is not known if Modi himself wrote the erroneous
tweet. His posts are reportedlywritten by his social media manager, Hiren
Joshi.

Given there at least 22.2 million Twitter users in India and that Ghani has
more than 176,000followers, the mistake was spotted by plenty of people.

One Twitter user in India replied to the Afghan president, "We don't care
when you b'day is, ifour honourable PM has wished you today, we will celebrate
it today."
印度一名推特用户对阿富汗总统作出回应：“我们不介意你的生日到底是哪天。如果我们尊敬的总理今天向你表达祝福，那我们就会在今天庆祝。”
Another user - Richard Rego - said it was "the biggest international joke
from someoneoccupying the biggest chair in the biggest democracy".
另外一名名叫Richard Rego的用户表示，这次事件是“世界上最大的民主国家的最高首脑开的最大的国际玩笑。”
