World Cup bidding suspended世界杯竞标推迟
FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke said on Wednesday that FIFA would
postpone bidding to host the 2026 World Cup while investigations continue into
allegations that bribery helped determine hosts of earlier tournaments.
国际足联(FIFA)秘书长杰罗姆·瓦尔克10日表示，鉴于前几届世界杯主办国的选定程序涉嫌受贿，相关调查正在进行，因此FIFA将推迟2026年世界杯的竞标。
FIFA had expected to allocate the 2026 tournament to a host nation in 2017,
but it has been embroiled in scandal since the US indicted 9 top officials on
corruption charges last month.

Swiss authorities have also opened an investigation into how the 2018 and
2022 World Cupswere awarded.
