AMBER Alert
A high-tech system to help find missing children was put into operation on May 15, as the result of joint efforts by Chinese police and Internet companies. Similar to the AMBER Alert system in the US, the Emergency Response System serves as a platform to disseminate authorized government information on missing children. This move is intended to simplify complicated reporting procedures and help officers do their jobs more efficiently, said China Daily.
