考研作文是考生在复习最后一个阶段涨分最快的一个版块，考前的冲刺复习应该以背诵两个内容为主：一是写作话题，二是常用句式、表达和套路。
考研作文分值较高，给了30分，仅次于阅读理解的40分，分为大小作文两类。小作文是高度程式化的一种表达，是有规律可寻的。大作文的写作虽然程式化不是很强，但是通过历年真题的分析，我们可以找出一些话题、表达方面的共性，可以帮助大家在考前有所突破。
大作文的分值为20分，考试形式为漫画式作文或图表作文。从1998年到2009年，除1999年外一直是考漫画式作文。漫画作文已经成了考研英语的一个经典的出题思路，2010年考漫画式作文可能性还是很大的。
考研的作文话题永远是考次热点的题，最热点的肯定不考。比如2009年1月份的考研，2008年的大事，第一奥运会，第二地震，很多人会说，奥运会是不是一个主题，或者地震是不是要考到合作，考到抗灾精神的，都没有考。所以最热点的一定不考。大作文的话题考生可以从以下五种话题准备：1. 价值观类；2. 教育文化类；3. 社会热点话题类；4. 人口环境类；5. 健康类。

此外，人口环境问题考题分别出现在2000年（过度捕捞）和1999年（人口增长与物种灭绝）；健康相关类话题曾经涉及1999年（吸烟问题）、1996年（Good Health）。
由此可见考研考的话题往往不涉及专业知识，尽量做到让考生都有话可说，而且往往是宣扬积极向上的社会价值。透过历年考过的真题，我们可以发现能考的话题已经不是很多了。
下面几个话题供参考：
1. 不良生活习惯类：
Given is a funny but rather thought-provoking drawing, in which a young guy is in front of a computer, indulging himself in a popular game named “Stealing Vegetables ”. Interesting as the game is, he has to suffer a bad ill because of sitting in chairs for a long time.
The picture targets at reminding us the unhealthy living habits of modern people, youngsters in particular. It can be noticed that some young men, like the man in the picture, spend mountainous time playing computer games even without sleep for a whole night. In the meanwhile, they turn a blind to their academic performance, work and life. Turning a look around, we can find numerous examples similar to this. However, if this situation were to continue, the physical and mental health of young men would be detrimentally affected. What is more, we will pay a high price for the future of our nation.
In the view of the seriousness, we have no option but to take effective measures to curb this disturbing scourge. Firstly, lectures are expected to be held in communities to advocate residents the scientific lifestyle. Secondly, young men should be educated and encouraged to allocate more time and energy to their academic pursue and career. Only in a reasonable and prosperous atmosphere can we expect to witness the ideal scene in which people enjoy their life to the utmost.
2. 游客/乘客素质
Given is a though-provoking picture. In a seat of a bus sits a young man, looking surprisingly at a young lady who is holding an old woman and requesting the man to offer his seat to the old. Simple as the drawing is, the phenomenon is not uncommon in society.
Evidently the intended meaning of the painter is worth special concern. To begin with, in public places, every one should be encouraged to behave in good and polite manners. It is noticeable that some young people, like the young man above who lacks the necessary public awareness, disturb the normal order of public places. What's more, the traditional moral values should be enhanced. To respect the elderly and take care of the young is one of traditional virtues in China. However, some young people, being selfish, turn a blind eye to these virtues. Their behaviors, consequently, impair the healthy development of our society. In one word, we should make deep reflection on our own deeds.
Accordingly, necessary measures should be immediately taken. Firstly, an education campaign should be launched to inform people of the acceptable and civilized manners in public places. Secondly, “eight honors and eight disgraces” advanced in China should be publicized to enhance our awareness of virtues. Only through these steps can we hope to create a harmonious and livable society.
3. 可持续发展（Sustainable development）
This is a wittily designed and thought-provoking piece of drawing. As is depicted, a worker is digging inside the earth. Obviously, he is exploring coal, oil or natural gas, as the caption indicates. The earth has become hollow as a result of the digging. The skyscrapers are about to collapse into inside the planet.
Evidently, the picture is meant to reveal the fact that human beings are running into an energy crisis. Taking a look around, we can find examples too numerous to list. Reports are often heard upon the shortage of such energy as coal, oil and natural gas. A number of factors may have led to the crisis, but the following are some critical ones. For one thing, those fossil fuels are limited in reserves, which also put a strain on their supply. For another, with the population explosion and development of modern society, the demand for energy has been soaring.
Confronted with the energy crisis, we should take a series of effective measures to save energy. On the one hand, it is high time that people all over the world realized the energy crisis and economized on the use of it. On the other hand, scientific researches should be encouraged to work out efficient methods of saving fuels and to seek new sources of energy.
4. 醉酒驾车（Drunken Driving）
Given are three quite simple but rather thought-provoking drawings. As is revealed in the first one, two men were raising glasses of wine and toasting each other. In the second one, two cars ran into each other and we can imagine the drivers must be the two drinkers. In the last picture, the same two men were lying in the hospital, both with bandage on their legs.
Evidently, the pictures target at revealing an increasingly prevalent illegal practice: drunken driving. No one can have failed to notice the fact that a mounting number of people died or got injured in accidents resulting from drunk driving. In Hangzhou, China, for example, two innocent young people lost their lives in two accidents that happened within a very short period of time. Actually, the phenomenon has been so widespread that it has drawn nationwide concern.
To our relief, we can see pertinent laws and regulations have been worked out and enforced to punish those who drive after drinking. However, I believe that more can be done to prevent things from getting worse. For one thing, severer laws can be made and put into effect. For another, the sale of alcohol should be limited in restaurants.
漫画和图表作文的差别主要在首段的描述上，因此准备好了漫画作文，只要将首段进行简单修改就可以写出优秀的图表作文。图表作文主要涉及数据变化的描述。建议参考本人博客上关于雅思图表描述的常用句式即可。
