考生应能掌握5500左右的词汇以及相关词组。除掌握词汇的基本含义外，考生还应掌握词汇之间的词义关系，掌握词汇之间的搭配关系，掌握词汇生成的基本知识。
1. recruit
n. 新兵；（机构中的）新成员；新学生；
vt. 招聘，征募；吸收某人为新成员；动员…（提供帮助）；雇用；
vi. 征募新兵；得到补充，得到补偿；恢复健康；
[例句]The police are trying to recruit more black and Asian officers.

2. rectify

3. refer

13. relate

14. relay
n. 继电器；传递；接替人员，替班；接力赛；
vt. 转播，传达；用驿马递送，使接替；分程传递；
[例句]Britain's prospects of beating the United States in the relay looked poor.

15. release
