考研英语复习日益紧张，作为考研英语的一个重要部分，词汇和词组的记忆依然不能放松。
1. shut out
退关；排除，把…关在外边；障蔽；
[例句]'I shut him out of the bedroom,' says Maureen.
“我把他关在了卧室外面，”莫琳说。
2. sit in
照看；出席，旁听；代替；静坐示威；
[例句]Will they permit you to sit in on a few classes?
他们会同意你旁听几节课吗？
3. sit up
熬夜；（使）端坐；晚睡；引起注意；
[例句]Her head spins dizzily as soon as she sits up.
她一坐起身来就感到天旋地转。
4. speed up
（使）加速；开快车；加紧；增速；
[例句]You notice that your breathing has speeded up a bit.
你注意到自己的呼吸加快了一些。
5. stand out
突出；坚持；超群；向前跨步；
[例句]Every tree, wall and fence stood out against dazzling white fields.
每棵树、每堵墙和每道栅栏都在白得耀眼的田野映衬下十分夺目。
6. stand up
起立；竖立；经久耐用；失约；
[例句]He made wild accusations that did not stand up.
他的指控毫无根据，根本站不住脚。
7. step up
走上；（使）增加；（使）加快速度；走上前去；
[例句]He urged donors to step up their efforts to send aid to Somalia.
他敦促各捐赠方加快速度将援助物资送往索马里。
8. step in
介入；干涉；进入；涉足；
[例句]If no agreement was reached, the army would step in.
如果无法达成协议，军队将会介入。
9. stick out
坚持；伸出来；竖起；断言；
[例句]She made a face and stuck out her tongue at him.

10. take away
剥夺；拿开；减去；使停止；
[例句]They're going to take my citizenship away.
他们打算取消我的国籍。
11. take down
取下；拆卸；记录，记下；笔录；
[例句]Alberg took the portrait down from the wall.

12. take off
起飞；脱掉；（使）离开；突然成功；
[例句]We eventually took off at 11 o'clock and arrived in Venice at 1.30.
我们终于在11点起飞，1:30到达威尼斯。
13. take on
承担；呈现；雇用；录用；
[例句]No other organisation was able or willing to take on the job.
没有任何别的组织有能力或愿意承担此项工作。
14. take over
接管；带；帮…学习；在…上花费；
[例句]A British newspaper says British Airways plan to take over Trans World Airways.
一家英国报纸称，英国航空公司计划接管环球航空公司。
15. take up
占用；开始从事；接受（提议）；
[例句]He did not particularly want to take up a competitive sport.
他并不特别想从事竞技体育运动。
16. think over
仔细考虑；重新考虑；掂掇；忖量；
[例句]She said she needs time to think it over.
她说，她需要时间好好想一想。
17. throw away
扔掉；浪费，错过；屏弃；
[例句]I never throw anything away.
我什么东西都不舍得扔。
18. touch up
润色；（对图画或文章等）做小的修改；唤醒；对…起刺激作用；
[例句]Could you touch up my eyes?
