        1. Just as bosses and boards have finally sorted out their worst accounting and compliance troubles, and improved their feeble corporation governance, a new problem threatens to earn them – especially in America – the sort of nasty headlines that inevitably lead to heads rolling in the executive suite: data insecurity. (2007. Text 4)
主句简短有力a new problem threatens to earn them, as引导时间状语从句as bosses and boards have sorted out...troubles and improved their...governance. 其中,主句中,破折号之间especially in America作插入语,the sort of nasty headlines作a new problem的同位语,同时headlines后是that引导的定语从句。
        2. Surely it should be obvious to the dimmest executive that trust, that most valuable of economic assets, is easily destroyed and hugely expensive to restore – and that few things are more likely to destroy trust than a company letting sensitive personal data get into the wrong hands. (2007. Text 4)
主句it should be obvious to the dimmest executive中,it作形式主语,真正的主语是that引导的主语从句。主句从句的基本句型是that trust is easily destroyed and hugely expensive...and that few things are more likely to destroy...than a company.之所以说它复杂,首先是因为主语从句是由两个并列的that从句组成的,前个从句中,要注意that most valuable of economic assets中的that是“那个”的意思,并非连词;后个从句中,注意more...than a comany后company有现在分词结构letting sensitive personnal date get into...
        3. Meanwhile, the theft of information about some 40 million credit-card accounts in America, disclosed on June 17th, overshadowed a hugely important decision a day earlier by America’s Federal Trade Commission (FTC) that puts corporate America on notice that regulators will act if firms fail to provide adequate data security. (2007. Text 4)
【析句】先抓主干,the theft of imformation overshadowed a hugely important decision by FIC. 再看起修饰作用的成分:disclosed on June 17th过去分词作定语修饰the theft of imformation.by America's FTC后that puts corporate America on notice/that regulators will act /if frims fail to...
