应缅甸联邦共和国外交部部长昂山素季女士邀请，中国外交部长王毅对缅甸进行为期两天的正式访问。4月5日，中国外交部部长王毅抵达缅甸，与缅甸外长、全国民主联盟(民盟)主席昂山素季在首都内比都举行会谈。这也是昂山素季上台以来的“外交首秀”。
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has sat down with Aung San Suu Kyi, Myanmar's Foreign Minister and the chairman of the National League for Democracy in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday. The Chinese diplomat is on a two-day visit to the country at the invitation of Aung San Suu Kyi.
此前，中国外交部发言人洪磊就王毅部长访缅之行表示，双方会就双边关系和共同关心的问题交换意见，进一步加强双方经贸合作。洪磊同时对缅甸单方面停止中方在缅在建项目，包括密松水电站项目等相关事项作出回应。
Earlier a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said the two would exchange views about bilateral relations and issues of mutual concerns so as to further enhance economic and trade cooperation between both sides. Hong Lei made the remarks in response to Wang Yi's visit to Myanmar and the fact that Myanmar stopped several cooperation projects with China including hydraulic projects at a news briefing.
“中国和缅甸山水相连，是友好邻邦。近年来，中国和缅甸开展了广泛领域的务实合作，促进了缅甸经济社会发展，造福了当地人民。此次王毅外长访缅期间，将就双边关系和双方共同关心的问题同缅方交换意见，其中包括我们共同关心的一些务实合作项目。我们希望双方通过深入沟通，进一步促进中缅经贸合作，推动两国实现互利共赢。”
"China and Myanmar are linked by mountains and rivers and friendly neighbors. Both countries have carried out extensive and pragmatic cooperation, which has enhanced Myanmar's economic and social development and benefited local people," said Hong.
"During the visit, Foreign Minister Wang Yi will exchange views with the Myanmar side about bilateral relations and issues of mutual concern, including some pragmatic cooperation projects of mutual concern. We hope to further enhance the economic and trade cooperation between two sides and achieve mutual benefits and win-win outcomes."
